Here are a few of Jackson's new loves....
Every time we get in the car and I put my sunglasses on, Jackson starts crying and reaching for them, until I give in. Here he is in all his sunglass glory.
He is also really loving this new Giant coloring book. He thinks it is great to sit right in the middle and color all around him.
He is still loving his stuffed animals and seems to have one under his arm at all times.
He is loving "fishy" crackers and will sign, fish, and then stick his finger in his mouth and tip his head back. It cracks me up. A few weeks ago, we were watching his Baby Signs video, when suddenly he got out of my arms and walked away. A few seconds later he returned with the fish crackers in one hand and signing, fish, with the other.
He loves to be in the kitchen. The second that anyone steps in the kitchen he starts signing, food and saying, "mmm, mmm.....", and follows closely behind them until he gets whatever treat they are eating. This is a picture of him "helping" my mom make Texas sheet cake the other night.
Jackson can label all the parts of his face. Diaper changing had become next to impossible, when one day I thought I would just start asking him where everything was on his face. He now lays very still and waits to hear what I am going to ask him to find.
When Jackson wants a drink he walks over to the fridge and signs drink and then waits for someone to open the fridge. I have put his sippy cups on the bottom shelf, so that as soon as the fridge is open he can reach in and get what he wants. When he is done, he will usually put the sippy cup back on the shelf and then help me close the door.
Jackson has to wave goodbye to anyone leaving the house. If he doesn't get to say goodbye or he realizes someone has left he will throw a fit. And it's not good enought to just stand inside the house, because then he thinks that the person is just outside and he bangs on the door they left from. So everytime someone leaves we walk outside to the car with them and walk goodbye, give hugs, and kisses unil the car disappears from view.

ok, now that is a big boy! :) golly, michelle, look at these pictures! He is getting so OLD! Can you believe it?!
It only makes sense that he totally catches onto the whole signing thing. Remember how you are the old pro at sign language? Wow. This is me, super impressed!
My goodness, he is a signing pro now! What a smarty pants! So cute! Isn't it great to know what they want?
I am so impressed at how quick Jackson has picked up the signing! It is motivating me so much to do that with Emerson. Isn't it fun when they are this stage--they pick up so many new things each day!
HI Michelle--
We're working with Clayton on sign language too. He doesn't have any words yet so we're hoping the signing will help! It sounds like Jackson has really caught on!
You have one cute little boy. I really need to get that movie for Aspyn so she can learn signs too. That's a little ways off for us though.
Janette
So cute! I love the story about him being done with practicing his signing!
That's really great you taught him ASL. I wish I was a bit more disiplined in that with Emma. The only one that really stuck was, "finished!" well that and the signs she's picked up from the Baby einstein signing video. So if I can handle it, i'll give it a try with Kate. But he's getting so big and so cute!
He is so cute!!
Scary car accident!! I am so glad you are okay!!
Jackson is getting so big...maybe the talking instead of signing means he's ready to start talking...how did Marc's interview with OSU go? Did he like it out here? I think if you guys come out here then there's a good chance I can get my sister to actually come out to visit:)
Michelle-How do you know Ben and Cindy Clark. I went to school with her and had some of the same classes. She was really good friends with Rob's girlfriend Cindy. Small world?!?!
