The day after Christmas Kevin, Amy, and their two kids arrived. We had a ton of fun seeing them. It was great for Jackson to get to play with Tyler and Susie, plus I loved seeing them. I know that Jackson has gotten older, so in turn Tyler and Susie have too, but it just surprises me every time I see them!
Marc has been grooming sledding trails in our backyard for the past several weeks, they are like his little baby's. :) He would go out there late at night to "ice them" and then go out and sled down them at even the slightest snow fall to make sure the snow was getting packed down. It was hilarious, but we were all appreciative of his hardwork. It made for some great sledding days for us. Since Marc still had to work during the holiday it seemed whenever we would go out to sled, he wouldn't be there to see us enjoy his trails, so one morning we all got up early and went out with him before he had to go to work. It was great fun.
Over the break we played games every night, I am pretty sure this is one of our favorite pastimes. We do however seem to get stuck in a game rut and play the same games over and over...so if you have any new fun games for us...pass the ideas our direction. The games we played a lot this holiday season were...Take Two (a variation on Scrabble), Ligretto (The German version of Nertz), Golf (a card game), The Bean Game, I was thinking there were a few more, but can't remember right now.
On New Years Eve we opted for a little change and went up to my Aunt and Uncle's house in Bountiful. All of their kids and spouses, and their kids came for Christmas, so it was a great big fun crowd! We played games and watched football or course to ring in the New Year. We are sure glad they let us come up and spent some time with them.
Jackson even went down the hill all by himself...a little video footage to prove it. :) He came down giggling or grinning EVERYTIME!

So fun! Michelle, there are some picture when I can't tell if it is you or Rachael. You two are looking so much alike. Also, some of our family favorites for games are: Blokus, Settlers of Catan, and Ticket to Ride. They are tons of fun and we tend to play those the most.
Love the sledding video! He is all boy! I need to call and catch up. We miss you.
Hey Michelle, I love the snow pictures! I wish my boys liked playing in the snow as much as Jackson--they just complain to come in the house!
Yes, we are going to go with the name Elizabeth. It's my middle name actually and I've wanted to name my little girl that for the LONGEST time and so really, I haven't even looked at a baby name book this time around! I've known what it's going to be (and thankfully Matt was okay with it)! My due date is March 4th. I may go early though (emerson was induced 2wks early because he was measuring big and Owen was over 9lbs). So I really don't have much more time. So crazy how fast time has flown! Just wait--I'm sure you will be shocked when you are pregnant with your 2nd, because you already are so busy with Jackson!
Hi , I found your blog by searching for "Nertz" online. It is cool to see others that know the game. I hope you don't mind but I just wanted to let you know about playnertz.com. It has got a bunch of Nertz information there as well as videos and online Nertz games. Feel free to check it out. Also you and your friends/family are welcome to join fellow Nertz players in The National Nertz Association while you are there.
