We dressed Jackson up like this the morning after we got home to tell everyone where we are going. And with Jackson's love of all stuffed animals we also got him his first UCLA stuffed bear.
Sorry I didn't mean to leave you all hanging for so long. I've just been so sick and I can't seem to get feeling better. Anyway, we decided to go to UCLA!!!! We are so excited to be going there. Our decision was made the moment we stepped into the housing at UCLA and started talking with the moms around there. It was such a great situation for me. And since most of our time really will be spent at the housing it just seemed like the best choice for us. I have to say I left a piece of my heart in San Francisco, but I feel confident about the choice we made. The housing at UCLA is perfect with the playgrounds, the storytime (once a week), the music class (once a week), the swimming pool, and other endless activities. I loved hearing that the moms get together so often and all the fun things they plan while their husbands are busy with school.
School starts Sept. 20 ( I think), so we will probably move down there sometime at the beginning of August. I am excited to meet the other moms and get involved. Having the beach so close and fun sports teams to cheer for aren't bad things either! Go UCLA!

That is so exciting for you guys! It is such an adventure to move away and so much fun. Hang in there the first couple weeks and it will be awesome! : )
Yeah! Welcome to California! At least we will live in the same state. If you end up driving through this area you are welcome to stay with us or stop by!
I am so excited for you guys Michelle! I will have to tell my parents that you are headed down to UCLA married student housing--they lived there for almost 6 years during my dad's Phd! But they absolutely LOVED it adn have the greatest memories from there and still keep in touch with all the friends they made. And the campus is beautiful there! I have so many memories going to the library, feeding the squirrels, or climbing on that big bear statue (you probably saw that) with my dad. It's still a tradition any time we are down remotely close to the area, that we stop by the campus--so I will definately keep you in mind if we are down there visiting!
PS Are you still sick? I sure hope you get feeling better soon! It is no fun being sick and still having to be the mommy :)
Wow!! I'm so excited for you!! I can tell how much more at peace you are now that you've been to both places....it seems like it is hands down UCLA....Yeah!! You're going to dental school!
Congrats! I'm so excited for you guys. Sounds like you will have a blast. oh, and I tagged you on my blog so check it out to see what to do.
Congrats on the big decision! I'm wondering if the music class you plan on attending will be the same or similar to ours..our friend who moved up from L.A. started it up here. Her husband wasn't a student, but they lived right in the same area and were part of the same crowd. She loved it there and misses it tons!
Congrats! I'm glad you all were able to make the big decision. Sounds like you will have a lot of fun down there!
YEAH! I'm so glad you choose that one since it seems much more interactive for moms and kids. Which that's your life right now so it only makes sense! But you are going to love the next step in your life! I'm kind of jealous there are so many things each week! It's good to keep busy too. And I hope you get feeling better...it wouldn't be morning sickness, would it? hmmm?
Michelle, that's awesome!! Congrats to you and Marc. That will be awesome. Our good friends went to dental school at UCLA and since we were living in LA this past summer, we spent a lot of time over at the married student housing where they lived. It's a great set-up. You guys will have a blast, and we are so happy for you!
That is so exciting! It sounds like such a fun adventure, and Jackson looks so ready for it all! I'm sure you guys will love it there.
yeah!! We're so excited for you guys! It sounds like UCLA will be a great place for your little family these next few years.
uuuhhhh, yeah, could you take ANY LONGER to give the news?!?!? :) CONGRATULATIONS!!! it's REAL now! YEA!!!!
I am so proud of you for really going down there and checking out the REAL situation of how life will REALLY be like! (key word of my comment...REAL)!
WAHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I am super excited for you guys!! No more decision making for a while now, eh? love that.
Congratulations! That did sound like a better situation for you. I must say I'm jealous (especially when it's snowing AGAIN right now). :)
Congrats! We wouldv'e liked to have you in the East with us, but oh well. It sounds like there is a lot to do there. It's hard to have your husband study CONSTANTLY, but at least you'll have other moms in the same boat. That's what keeps me sane.
That sounded really negative. Dental school isn't all that bad, but midterms and finals are!
