The Zoo
On Wednesday we decided to go to the zoo. Jackson loves any kind of animal, so we thought it would be a prefect activity for Marc's day off. Jackson woke up a little sick, but we still thought it would be fun to go (sometimes I think if we just get out and into different surroundings for a little bit, he can be happier).
When we drove up, both Marc and I were surprised by the number of cars in the parking lot. Then when we got up to the gate to buy tickets they told us it was FREE zoo day!!! How great is that? I'm sure we couldn't have planned it better.
Jackson was a little tired when we got to the zoo (still not feeling too great), but by the end he was loving it. He was probably most excited by the elephants, monkeys, birds, turtles, cats, and bunnies. We thought he was going to love seeing the cougars...since he is in love with Cosmo (the BYU cougar mascot and growls whenever he sees him)...and he did love seeing them, but it was funny to watch him make all the animal noises and get excited about so many of the animals.
They also have a playground area in the zoo. Jackson had tons of fun running around and going down the slides. It was really fun to watch him. He is a little timid at a playground, but I think that is because we haven't been to many (he loves the slides and swings, but is a little unsure about all the kids running around etc).
It was such a fun outing. We were glad Marc had a day off. We finished off the day with some Cafe Rio (we met my parents there, it was a great as always).
