Getting to Know Jackson

He has become a little boy over the past few months and……I am loving it! It is so fun to watch his personality come alive. I am sure this won’t be exciting to everyone, but here is a little about him…..I just don’t want to forget the little things :)

Daily Schedule…

7:30 am:
Wake Up. Jackson usually wakes up and plays with his cars (whatever car he selected to sleep with the night before) for 20-30 minutes and then starts calling: “Mommy, Daddy!”
8:00 am: Sit on the toilet (and talk about going stinky…key word being talking about it) Shower with Marc. He loves to play in the shower. His favorite toy is a little duck that looks like a cow (confusing I know), but he calls it his “Quack, Quack, Moo” (see below...)
8:10 am: Smoother the poor guy in Aquaphor (very bad eczema) and get him dressed.
8:15 am: Breakfast. He feeds himself a bowl of cereal with the milk drained out…less mess.
8:30 am: Watches a “movie” while I shower and get ready. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (Mouse as he calls it), Thomas the Train (Trains or Choo Choos), Curious George (George or Monkey), Little Einsteins, and lately he has started watching Dora. He loves to interact with whatever the show is…saying what they want him to say or dancing to the music, moving trains around while Thomas and his friends are on TV etc.
9:00-12:00 pm: We play with Tyler and Susie, run errands, or play outside (his favorite activity by far).
12:00 pm: Lunchtime. He loves to eat…Mac and Cheese, cheese balls (shredded cheese squished together into balls. Don’t ever start this one with your kids…way too much effort. It only got started because I was trying to get him to eat faster one day and the shredded cheese was taking too long to eat), chicken nuggets (with “dip, dip”), Taquitos, Milkshakes (Danimals), and any kind of fruit!
1:00-4:30 pm: Naptime. Love this time of day and love that he is a LONG napper! ☺
5:00 pm: Dinner. Usually eats really well, but if he doesn’t he eats one of his favorites from lunch.
5:30-7:00 pm: He plays outside (if the weather is nice). He loves to wander through the trees in the backyard, look at bugs (he gets down on his stomach to look at them), look for birds, find pinecones (ninenones), rocks, sticks, smell the flowers (he literally sticks his nose in them to smell them), pick the lellow flowers (dandelions) etc.
7:15 pm: Pajamas one last drink of juice and head to bed. When Marc gets home (if it is an “early day”) he squeals with delight and runs as soon as he hears Marc’s voice.
7:30 pm: Bedtime. We say “Goodnight” to everything in sight as we walk to bed…goodnight pictures, goodnight stairs, goodnight carpet, goodnight coo-coo (the clock). Then we read a story, read scriptures, say prayers and sing twinkle, twinkle.

Jacksons Favorite Things:

Books: A color of his own (loves to label all the colors), Chicka, Chika Boom Boom, Five Little Monkeys, and Good Morning Chick, The Foot Book
Shows: Curious George, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Thomas
Songs: Twinkle Twinkle, 5 little monkeys sitting in a tree, Life is a Highway (Rascal Flatts), Anything Hannah Montana, The Wheels on the Bus
Toys: Cars, Trains, Balls, Blocks, and pretend food
Food: Cheese!
Things to do:
Make tunnels (nunnels), do the “tee, tee” dance (Auntie Rachael or “tee, tee” taught him to dance with his two fingers pointing in the air), play outside (preferably in the Dirt), Ride Bikes, Blow Bubbles, and play at the park.

(chasing birds)

Favorite Phrases:

“I don’t know”
“Oh, man!”
“No Nap”
"Jackson Outside"

Other Things:

Jackson definitely keeps us laughing. He is such a funny kid and does things over and over when we laugh the first time.

A few days ago Tyler accidentally bumped into the kitchen cabinet and hurt his head. We were all paying close attention to him and asking him if he was alright. When suddenly Jackson went over to the cupboard and hit his head on it (on purpose). He then turned around and said, “Ouch, Ouch Jackson!” Then when I said, “Ouch did you hit your head like Tyler?” He grinned and laughed.

He LoVEs to make tunnels. He finds tunnels everywhere. For example, today I was wearing a tank top on top or a t-shirt and he stick his arm under one of the straps and said, “Nunnel! Nunnel!”

Jackson knows all of his colors and usually points them out before I even have a chance to ask him.

The other night, when I was taking Jackson to bed, he kept saying, “Morning hick”. It took me forever to finally realize he was talking about the book, “Good Morning Chick” and that he wanted to read it, but once I did he was all smiles.

Jackson loves to swim and is a little fish in the water. But when we aren’t swimming and the pool is open he will run over and put his hands in and say, “Hands, Hands, Hands” while splashing water all over himself and anything around him.
We sure love Jackson!

I wish your Jackson and my Sophie could play together. I think Jackson is so cute and they would have so much fun together. By the way...there is a picture on my blog, the post right before Survivor, called I am a Mother, where you can see a picture of my belly...since you requested...although, that was taken over a month ago, so I'm bigger now... :) Thanks for reading. Love your posts!
