Warm River Camping

This last Wednesday afternoon we headed up to Warm River (in Idaho). We spent the next few days camping, fishing and enjoying the camp fire. It was fun to watch how excited Jackson got about everything. He loved sitting by Marc and helping him reel in fish. He also loved the water...now Warm River, might sound all great and cozy to get into, but just as a lot of things aren't what they seem, neither is warm river....it is FREEZING! However, Marc and Jackson seemed to end up swimming/wading in it everyday. The boys built up a rock wall and created a little "tub". Everyone enjoyed taking their turn in the "bath".
Marc sure enjoyed fishing and spent quite a bit of time wading through the water tryin gto find the best place to catch fish. However, it was Kevin that showed all of us up with his HUGE fish! We've never seen anything as big as it caught at Warm River, but I will let his show it to your on his blog.

The boys built up a rock wall and created a little "tub". Everyone enjoyed taking their turn in the "bath", even my mom! And she did it after dark, when you stay freezing it seems the rest of the night. :)
The second this box of snacks came out, Jackson was beside himself! He couldn't believe how much candy and cookies were just at his fingertips. It was so funny to watch him look into the box and spy what he wanted. After way too much candy I told him he had to wait until later to have more. A few minutes later he climbed back up onto the park bench and was looking at the box. I told him hw couldn't have anymore and to go play, when he looked at me as if annoyed I would even question his motives and said, "Looking Mommy! Looking!" :)

Jackson went without a nap for way too long and by Thursday evening he had just about had it with life. It was then that someone mentioned, the river bank ...not sure the exact sentence. When Jackson cried out, "THE BANK!!!" And started crying. We all looked at each other and wondered what had sent him into such a frenzy, but the he said, "SUCKER!!!" And suddenly I realized he meant the Bank with money in it and he was remembering getting a sucker and wanted one right then! It was too funny. Lucky for us Kevin happened to have one in his car. So he told Jackson he would go to the bank and get him a sucker. Immediately Jackson stopped crying and got a huge grin on his face. :)

We roasted Starbursts over the campfire. Apparently, this one was still a little hot!

Boogie boarding down the River

It was a fun camping trip, but we wish Ryan could have been there with us.

Wow, you guys have been busy. I can't believe Jackson got in the freezing water! I don't think Peyton would as much put a toe in it. And how funny about the candy/snacks. He must crack you up everyday.

K so funny with the BANK! scenario. So funny what kids remember and relate to things. He's so stinkin' cute though!
