Thanksgiving

At the last minute...literally, we decided to head up to Utah for Thanksgiving. It was SO fun! It was great to be "home" and to see my family. Jackson loved playing with Tyler and Susie and it was fun to see them talk and interact with each other. It is surprising how much their interactions change in a few months. They are having real conversations and just being cute. On the car ride to Utah Jackson kept talking about, "my Susie" and was really excited to play with her. And he was excited to show Tyler his Buzz and Woody cars. It was funny to me how excited he was to see them.

Traffic was a little crazy on the drive up, but NOTHING compared to the drive home. On the way home it was bumper to bumper traffic from Las Vegas to the California State Line. I think it took us 2 1/2 hours to do this portion of the drive. Crazy?!

Anyway, we mostly just hung out around my parents house, but it was fun just to be there and to have everyone home. On Thanksgiving day we were able to get a picture with all of us. The first family picture we have had together since my wedding. It was a much needed picture.

On Friday night we went out to eat at Cafe Rio....a much needed stop in my book. I've been craving it for months! And it definitely lived up to my expectations. :) Then we went up to Temple Square to see them turn on the lights. We were in the parking garage when they actually offically turned on for the season, but it was still fun to walk around and see them. We also went up tp the 18th floor of the Zions Bank Building (where Ryan works) and looked down over Temple Square. It was beautiful. Plus the kids enjoyed running around a little bit and we enjoyed meeting Brittney's parents.
Trying to get Jackson to hold still long enough to take his picture...yeah right. This was one of my many attempts and his exasperated...CHEESE, I've had enough mom face.
On Saturday we did a little shopping and then went and saw Santa Claus. Jackson was braver than I thought he would be. He kept telling me that we would stand by Santa and talk to him, but that he wasn't going to sit on his lap. And he did exactly that. He had a lot to say and stood right by him. It was cute to see him and Tyler. Tyler was definitely the bravest of all...sitting on his lap and talking to him. It was really cute.
Grandpa and Grandma's train was another hit. Jackson and Tyler loved playing with it.

It was a great trip and fun to see family.

MMM...there must be something about being pregnant and craving Cafe Rio! I always crave it, but ESPECIALLY when I am pregnant! I will do almost anything for it...and I even will eat the leftovers for b-fast :) That is so fun you guys came up for Thanksgiving. Will you be up for Christmas? And I just love the pics of Jackson with his cousins. The three of them look so cute together and look like they have tons of fun!

so any names picked out for this cute new little guy on the way?

What a fun last-minute trip! Your family is so grown up, it's fun to see them in the pics. So is Ryan engaged? Married? I know Brittney from a BYU ward. Crazy!

I also loved the story of Jackson on the bus. Isn't it amazing what can entertain these little boys? I just love having boys and I can't wait to have another one! As I'm sure you would agree. How are you feeling? How is the doctor situation? I hope all is well in California for you!

I'm so glad you got to go home for Thanksgiving!! Brian and I were on our own this year and it was a little sad. Looks like you had a blast. That is such a great picture of your family! We're excited to get down there to spend Christmas with my family... it would be fun to see you, but you'll probably be in Utah. Let me know!!
