Christmas Eve
Our Christmas Eve always starts with our ward Christmas Eve gathering, where we sing songs, hear stories, and listen to the ward band. This year Ralph, Teresa, and Adam joined us for our Christmas Eve celebrations. After the ward gathering we came home and had dinner and then moved into our Christmas Eve program. We acted out the Nativity and then talked about Christmas Memories or shared talents. The Christensen's introduced us to a new tradition of lighting candles and singing Christmas songs. I think we all agreed it was one of the highlights of the evening.
We were proud of Jackson for singing Rudoulph the Red Nosed Reindeer...by himself. I just had to sit by him, while he sang it for everyone. And he loved being a shepard in the Nativity. He definitely thought he had the coolest part and the coolest costume. It was really cute to watch him. It has been fun to see him grasp a little more this year as to what Christmas is, both the presents/Santa Claus idea and the Birth of Baby Jesus. I know he doesn't understand it all, but he is starting to get some of it and it has been fun to watch him learn.
We opened Christmas Eve gifts from my parents. The boys all got fishing vests and the girls all of matching Pajamas. The kids got a game and new coloring stuff.
