February 13-16, 2009

Over Presidents Day Weekend we had our second group of visitors (we had Marc's mom here the weekend before), My parents, Ryan, Brittney, and Craig. It was so fun to have them come and see where we live and show them around the town a little.

They arrived on Friday night and we walked around Westwood and went out to dinner at BJ's. It was predicted to be a cold weekend, but we were glad the weather held out for us. It was definitely colder than normal, but we didn't get all the rain that we thought we might end up with.

Jackson eating his Valentine from Grandma and Grandpa

On Valentines Day we went biking along the beach (from Veince Beach up to the Santa Monica Pier). We have beeen talking about doing them for a while, but have never actually done it. It was such a fun thing to do and we will definitely we doing it again! It makes we wish I had a bike, although bike rentals weren't too bad. After the ride we sat and ate lunch on the beach.
Classic Jackson at the beach...he has to swim in the sand! I guess this is just Jackson and dirt in general. He has always loved to "swim" in the dirt. I remember watching him do this in my parents backyard, I guess he is just a boy, a boy that loves to get really dirty. :)
In the afternoon we headed up to UCLA campus where Marc took them on a little tour of the dental school, so they could get a feel for what he is doing. I am pretty sure that this was Craig's favorite part of the whole trip! He couldn't wait to get to campus and while we were there he even worked on a few of Marc's practice teeth. :) We of course had to go to the bookstore, so everyone could gather up their UCLA gear. We went out to eat at In-n-Out.

And later that evening those that wanted to went back up to Westwood and got themselves a Diddy Reese. Our favorite treat! It is too fresh baked soft cookies with ice cream in the middle. They are delicious (as Jackson would say)! Plus they are only $1.50. You can't really beat that price (it is especially student budget friendly. :)

Enjoying a Valentines Day Cupcake with Grandpa

On Sunday, we went to church and then in the afternoon we took a little drive up Rodeo Dr. and then out to the PCH. We drove up to Malibu and then turned around and came back to a beach near us, where we saw dolphins jumping in the water! I've never seen dolphins in real life. It was awesome!

Jackson is convienced that Dolphins eat rocks, because they were all throwing/skipping rocks in the water, while watching the dolphins

Playing "chicken" with the water and Jackson coming back soaked...of course! Bad idea Dad aka Marc. :)

We were sad to see them leave on Monday morning...come back soon! We had a lot of fun having you here!
