Kidspace.
July 11, 2009

Friday has become field trip day.  A mom who used to be in our ward organized a field trip for every Friday during the summer months.  It has been fun to get together with some of the moms and explore new places in LA.  Personally, I was especially proud of myself for getting to this outing.  It was up in Pasadena (It actually shares a parking lot as the Rose Bowl), but I have never been up there and I have never had to drive through downtown Los Angeles BY
MYSELF!!!  Be proud, be very proud.  It is about a 45 minutes drive from our house which is REALLY far for me to drive around here.  I know by Utah standards of driving 45 minutes is not that big of a deal, but the freeways here are crazy and the number of cars on them are even crazier.  Anyway, I am proud we made it in one piece and almost on time.  :)

Kidspace is a really fun kids museum.  There is an outside portion with bikes and roads to ride the bikes around on, a stream with buckets for dumping water and climbing around on, and ropes for climbing on.  Then an indoor portion with all sorts of fun stuff.   There were ant tunnels to climb through, digging for dinosaur bones, a weather station, a beehive--with real bees, a dark room for seeing bugs that only come out at night etc.  Jackson really loved it.  I was glad we went and was especially happy that Bennett was so well behaved for me while we were out.
