Patterns
June 11, 2009

I know everyone thinks their own children are pretty awesome, so this might just be bore to you, but I have to record this for my own memory.  So if hearing about how awesome so thinks their kids are makes you want to gag, feel free to skip over this post.  :)

Just recently Jackson has started making patterns.  I haven't taught him and we haven't talked about it, but nonetheless he is making them seems to really understand them.  The first time this happened it took me a minute to figure out what he was talking about and if he had really meant to make a pattern, but after several more patterns being brought to me I realized it was a purposeful act.

One of the first patterns that he brought to me I took a picture of, just because I was quite amazed.  He brought the above stack of legos to me and said, "I need another long lego, Mom.  It's missing a part."  At first I couldn't figure out what he was talking about and then I saw it...two little legos, then one long lego, two little legos and then a long lego...and then the missing long lego near the top.  He didn't have anymore legos (which we have since bough more of) to fill in the gap, but I was pretty impressed by this.

A few more pictures of patterns he has brought to me...
