Camping
Yesterday evening we met Chad, Sarah and Audrey, along with Alisa and Ryan up American Fork Canyon to do a little camping. We were excited to try out our new tent and sleeping bags (which, by the way, worked very well). We had a lot of fun!
We started by going on a "hike" to the river. When we got back we sat around and talked while getting dinner prepared. While eating our tinfoil dinners Jackson suddenly started screaming and rubbing his eyes. Only one eye seemed to be hurting as it began swelling, leaking, and looking red. From then on he had a rough evening with a little crying. He still went to bed good, but he woke up about the time we were supposed to he headed to bed and keep us awake another hour or so. We had fun sitting around talking and getting to know Ryan a little more. Then this morning we had a hot breakfast with all the good stuff, cleaned up camp and headed home. It was a short trip, but a very fun one.
Anyway about Jackson's eye we really aren't sure what it wrong yet...maybe an allergic reaction?! We called the pediatrician and we are keeping our eye's on his, but for now are just seeing if we see any changes and giving him benadryl.

Is it pink eye? Hope he feels better soon!
Poor Jackson! His eye looked so swollen. Sounds like you made the best of your camping trip though. I haven't checked out any blogs for a long time but seeing yours today reminded me that it doesn't have to be something big every time. So today, Michelle - you are my inspiration!
looks like lots of fun. We love camping with our kids and have ever since lucy was about Jacksons age. I hope his eye is better soon. Poor guy!
Michelle - I'm glad you mentioned something about your mom's comments. I hadn't read what she said. That was funny. You tell your mom she is so cute and funny and she will not be an empty nester as long as Andy and I are around!! Ha! We will always be lurking around waiting for our turn again!! ha!
ps- I'm sure Andy would think the camping was a lot of fun too but that was really my comment.
You all look cold in the morning picture. That's why you should come camping down here...guaranteed to never be cold! ...Even if you choose to sleep with no covers. Looks like it was fun. If anyone is up for a Grand Canyon camping trip let me know! Possibly in early June.
I found your blog from facebook. :) Hope you dont mind if I look at it!!
Your son and family are so cute!! Poor little guy with that eye! Emma had a clogged tear duct around that age. It made me so sad!
It was so much fun! Let's do it again! Hope Jackson's eye is doing better.
