So heres the thing...
It is impossible to get copyrights on fashion. Let just say I did go ahead and get all of my patterns copyrighted, well...one it is SUPER expensive and two if they are copyrighted than it only protects me so far. If someone just changes the length of the apron by a 1/2 inch or makes the length of the tie 1/3 of an inch smaller than it is no longer "the same pattern". Thus they can do this.
I have no control over this. It really is something that you just have to hope doesn't happen. And the truth be told, it will probably happen again. It makes me sick to think about, but really there is no protection for me or my patterns.
That's why as a designer you want to get big and get big fast. So that people want the "name brand" and not just all the knock offs.
However, I am planning on talking to her about this, because I want her to know that I know. I just don't want her to think she got away with anything. I'll let you know how it goes.

And ya, I was wondering about copyright stuff and it sort of makes it even more frustrating!
This really does make me sick. I'm so mad people are doing these aprons. I have never seen them until your website and now I'm noticing them everywhere. Your fabrics are so much cuter though! Looking forward to hear about the confrontation.

I guess that makes sense about the whole copywriting the patterns. Good luck with everything! Get out there and start selling your stuff, you are so talented you can. But you still should let that girl know you are on to her.
