Arrrggg. Me Matey.
July 9, 2009
Jackson had a pirate themed party this year. He has been talking about it for months and asking me all the details. We passed out invites to all of our friends that said:
Shiver Me Timbers
Cap'n Jackson is Turn'n 3!
So gather round me matey's
and join us in celebrating on
Thursday, July 9th at 6:30
At the Farthest north playground on the Sepulveda side of University Village

We ended up with a great turn out (we weren't sure that we would have to many kids, since a lot of people were out of town, but it turned out great). Jackson loved every minute of the day, starting with "TT" (Rachael) coming down from Utah to celebrate with us. Not only did she come, she came bearing gifts from everyone. Thank you! Thank you! Jackson loved all of it.
We took the day slow and just got details for the party ready. Cutting up fruit and stuffing the pinata etc. It was a lot of fun to have Rachael around to help us.
That evening we had Macaroni and Cheese for dinner (Jackson's choice) and he ate on the "Special Plate".
The party was a lot of fun. Marc led the kids on a Treasure hunt around the playground, at the end of the treasure hunt they found a pinata treasure chest. The kids took turns hitting it with a baseball bat until we finally let Austin hit it really hard to get it open.
The cake turned out better than I thought it would, just because the night before when I had made it I was sure I was going to wake up and have it all tipped over and messed up.
